Eileen Marma, Peer Mentor in Training, through Gallaudet University, will offer these two topics:
I. Brief overview of the Gallaudet University Peer Mentor Training Program. This program prepares people who have hearing loss to assist others in managing their hearing loss. The next two-year training program begins in August, 2017.
II. Communication Strategies for people with hearing loss and their family and friends who have normal hearing. Perspectives from both sides; Effective ways to communicate for better understanding the first time; Getting serious about communication and having fun. Communication partners with normal hearing are invited.
Meetings have a T-coil loop, and real-time captioning courtesy of Archer Captioning.
Please bring a small purchased snack item to share.
Water and juice will be provided.
The HLAA Linn Benton Chapter is a Hearing Loss Support Group made up of Linn and Benton County hard of hearing individuals. We meet monthly to listen to timely topics, share experiences, provide support, advice, and friendship. We invite you and your family members to attend.
