In this presentation you will learn about Speech ID, a pocket auditory practice tool which was designed in collaboration with aural rehabilitation experts from the MED-EL corporation. The session will discuss the research foundations of the tool, the areas of speech therapy it covers, and the benefits of regular listening practice. At the end of the talk, you will know how to obtain the tool, why it is useful, and how you can help develop it further.
Tonight’s presentation will be by Pamela Connors, who is the co-founder of Auditory IQ, LLC, a speech and hearing technology company that develops solutions for all types and degrees of deafness. Combining state-of-the art machine learning with best practices in auditory-verbal therapy, Auditory IQ aims to redefine aural rehabilitation. Its goal is to help people with hearing loss decode the world of speech by creating accessible, low-cost, adaptive systems for both self-habilitation and as supplements to other auditory therapies.
