Living Well With Hearing Loss Detailed Workshop Information
Sam Trychin, Ph.D. Dr. Trychin is a psychologist in private practice in Erie, PA. Trychin conducts national and international education and training programs for people who are hard of hearing, their communication partners, and professionals who provide services to them. His programs include the application of psychological concepts, principles, and procedures to problems and issues related to hearing loss. His workshop will be centered on Communication Strategies between hearing and hard of hearing individuals.
Tina Childress, M.A. CCC-A Tina Childress is an educational audiologist, technology and social media aficionado, late-deafened adult and bilateral cochlear implant recipient who is also fluent in ASL. Childress will make two presentations. The first will focus on Assistive Listening Technologies. Her second presentation will follow the Youth Discussion Panel, and is titled “Transitions After High School”.
David Baldridge, Ph.D
Dr Baldridge is a Toomey Fellow, Newcomb Fellow, and Professor of Management. He earned his Ph.D. in Management from the University of Connecticut, Storrs.
In his presentation, Career Success After Hearing Loss, Dr. Baldridge will begin by briefly reviewing research on career success in the general population and then turn to his current research on career success after hearing loss, and participants own employment experiences.

Audiologist Moderated Panel Local audiologists will discuss Over the Counter Hearing Aids and Aural Rehabilitation. Panelists will provide their opinions and insight into these two topics.
Youth and Young Adult Moderated Panel Let the Learning Begin: What Our Young People Have to Say Four panelists will describe their challenges, the most effective ways for others to support them, and their strategies in self-advocacy.
